There’s so much hype around this band at the minute that if Jo Wiley mentions them one more time, you won’t be able to move for air at their gigs.
Thankfully the Math Rock/dance/punk band are moving at their own pace, but Foals really are creating ripples in the water. New single Balloons really is a step in the right direction; it shows promise and development in the band, with an energetic and well-paced beat right the way through that will keep you thumping and jumping.
The guitars really are what make this song a great one; their complicated rhythm and slick techno sound and timing burst with energy and sweat giving the song - like all Foals songs - a darkness and intense edgy feeling. Listening to this, you’re really not sure what’s going to happen
Balloons is truly a great song; dark, racy and full of power and punch to throw yourself around to. From a band that show sure-fire talent and energy to pulsate their music its obvious why they’re so popular in an age where cool indie kids and neon colours rule supreme.
Renowned for their complicated music styles fusing indie elements with punk, dance and techno, these guys are definitely a band to check out.
