Like the evil offspring of the Klaxons, but with possibly more melodies, Hadouken! return with their latest single, Leap of Faith.
Flying out of the blocks on a wave of pacey synths and drumming, the track sounds like a powerful statement of intent when compared to the band’s messier sounding previous releases.
Everything about this record is entirely convincing. From the lyrics that take in stories of the disillusioned to the rush of guitars and keyboard which power the song along, the track is quite simply a great 21st century rock song that mixes eclectic bits and pieces from the likes of Lostprophets and Enter Shikari to make its point.
The EP that this single is to be part of is set to become the first UK release to be released solely on a USB stick. Because of the revolutionary move, one can only hope that its release format doesn’t overshadow the actual songs on it.
Leap of Faith is a fine piece of music that deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.
According to Wikipedia, Hadouken perform grime rock. Music fans should only hope that all music labelled with that bizarre genre name is as good as this. Super.
