Too Cool For Stool covers my first topsy-turvy year as a UC patient, and aims to provide you with as much everyday information about living with UC without boring your faces off. It won’t be an easy read for many, as I’ll be writing about an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) that is both humiliating and life-threatening, but – thankfully - it has also provided plenty of opportunities for very dark, wry moments of humour to enhance the worst of times.
Consequently, you can expect to encounter a lot of strong language and adult (toilet) humour throughout, along with as many poo-related puns as it is humanly possible to cram in. It’s 100% anecdotal, 100% flawed and definitely non-scientific, but I aim to be as honest and as open as I can with you all about a chronic, lifelong illness that affects two million people worldwide.
